This morning, Sam posted a shot of her fridge, no rearranging allowed. As my blog can attest, I've had zero ideas (or time) for posts lately, so I thought I'd "borrow" hers. I don't know how to add those cute little starburst doohickies, but my first shelf (see above) contains Straus whole milk from this weekend's ice cream making, Mr. Food Musings' fizzy water stash (he drinks 2-3 a day), my favorite 2% Greek yogurt, and some Safeway O organic preserves. In the back you can just barely see the three fruit marmalade I learned to make from June Taylor, as well as a bottle of Trader Joe's balsamic dressing that makes a great last minute marinade for chicken.
Not to be outdone, shelf 2 tempts with its homemade egg salad, fresh corn tortillas, TJ's salsa (I love it over baked potatoes with a scoop of avocado), and a wee jar of homemade Caesar salad dressing. (I think some of David's buttered pecans are hiding under the tortillas somewhere.) Ooh, and some McQuade's chutney there in the back.
Now we get to the good stuff. Shelf 3 has a bottle of rosé and two bottles of champagne,
some sweet pea puree and fresh ricotta for my new favorite crostini, Marin Sun Farms eggs, and some butter.
Shelf 4 holds a shameful bottle of terrible store-bought dressing that has no face-saving claim as a delicious marinade, plus Crisco -- try making a southern recipe for pie or fried chicken without it. And then there is a big stash of Attune bars, which I eat daily to keep me healthy. Yay! Mr. FM and I love Attune bars!
The bottom crisper holds some sausages from Fra'Mani and Fatted Calf, some gorgonzola cheese, some low-fat string cheeses (another favorite, un-food-bloggery snack of mine) and some turkey.
What's in your fridge?
I think Sam was ragging on me the other day for my love of string cheese.

hmmm, me? ragging, oh well. I am not one to talk - I just scoffed a Twix because I will be stuck here at work late and I am miserable.

Right now my fridge is not very interesting, but I understand that soon there will be something especially yummy in there, n'est pas? My taste buds are all a'tingle!

An oversight, to be sure, but Miss Food Musings failed to mention the boar's head in the meat drawer. It was procured on a nighttime hunting trip to the island of Kuai just last week. The hunt began with a supersonic flight over the ocean, from which we parachuted in full scuba gear into the waters off of Kuai (we were maybe three miles out, bad pilot). We established a beachhead just past dawn and radioed the SR71 circling high above to begin broadcasting pictures of boar sightings. Once we had our target, we circled the area and called in a Harm-equipped Predator, which, unlike with Osama a few years back, fired its missile and struck home. Sadly, all but the head of the beast vaporized and so we will have to make boar's head soup instead of enjoying some fine chops. Ah, well, such is the risk when you forgo the safety of the supermarket.

Amanda -- I don't care who rags on me, I love it!
Sam -- Twix are also delicious treats. It's reassuring to know that even you fall from grace from time to time.
Mom -- Patience, patience, I believe "it" is shipping today. One hint: you will actually be able to eat the box, too!
Jeff -- I love your sense of humor so much that I'm almost willing to forego mentioning that Kauai is spelled with one more "a" than you gave it. xoxo

I blame my field intelligence units.

Now I know for sure whose shepherd's pie post was the truthful one.
