Don't you know, wine makes everything better?

Susan

You're too cute. Glad you could let your hair down a bit! Next time you order Indian food, try Rotee (also in the Haight). I've eaten Indian food at Raja (which is okay but not great) and probably 20 others in The City, and Rotee stands out as one of the best. It's fairly new. If you like tikka masala, theirs is excellent:

My other favorite for delivery might surprise you---India Palace on Fillmore (they also have a great buffet lunch). When I was doing a delivery test for the "Best Of" issue they came in first out of five Indian restaurants. Nothing out of the ordinary (try Rotee for that) but good, solid food and they'll prepare it the way you ask them to (I ask for mild and not too salty), which was part of my test. I also like that you can order online:

The truth is, we do care how you and Mr. FM are doing. So thanks for the update. Good to hear.

when is Susan going to get a blog?
or where can I find her paper?
Do I have to move to the North side of town?

Susan

Hi Sam,

If you give me your address I would love to put you on the Northside subscription list. You can visit our sadly outdated website http://www.northsidesf.com -- we just hired a designer who is overhauling it, so it should be shiny and current in a month or so. I signed the papers today (or as I refer to it, signed my life away) so I am officially the owner, publisher and editor-in-chief of Northside and the Marina Times as of today, which also happens to be my birthday! A bit scary... the birthday, I mean ;-) We will be having a big party to launch or new look and website and boxes on the street at the end of August, coinciding with our 2nd annual "Best of Northside Food" issue. I know it's a bit premature, but you're all invited to that!

Glad to hear you're having fun, Catherine! Wonderful news. Yep, sometimes old friends and a bottle of wine can make all the difference in the world.

And I agree with Susan about India Oven being some of the best Indian food in the city. Try their sag dal--amazing (and I don't even like lentils).
