The current fruit inventory in our home is 13 tangerines, 10 pears, 5 apples, 5 Meyer lemons, 4 aging bananas, two organic tomatoes, and an avocado. Though Mr. Food Musings is still devouring bananas on cereal and tangerines by the truckload, I fear that some of our gorgeous fruit may do us in å la Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout. And so, inspired (and a little afraid) by the bounty in our kitchen, I set to pulverizing it into this morning's smoothie.
Calling this a recipe is a leap of faith, since all of the ingredients are easily varied to suit your own tastes. Try whatever fruit, yogurt and juice you have on hand and/or prefer, and adjust the honey to your liking.
Next up? L.'s famous pear and apple crisp. But that'll have to wait for a big bowl of vanilla ice cream and the weekend...
Smoothie
Serves 2
In a blender or food processor, pulse 1 ripe banana, 1 cup plain yogurt, 1 cup Odwalla SuperFood Amazing Purple juice (with antioxidant-rich Amazonian açai berries!) and 1 TBSP honey. Drink it down and don't forget to wipe off your purple mustache before leaving the house.
Sounds great--not too many WW pts, either! I'll have to look for that juice. Where might I find it around here??

Well, Coke bought out Odwalla a few years ago so I'd think it would be pretty widely available. There's usually a special Odwalla cooler in the market. Try Fresh Market or Farm Fresh and see if they have it. If not, Naked makes a really great series of juices. They're stored in the refrigerator section.
