This year's turkey was a damn fine bird. We brined him overnight and then let him roast up to a golden brown.
But enough about turkey. I just really wanted to say I'm home, and wish you a happy new year. Once I've finished unpacking and getting through my list of to-do's (which currently stands at 15, give or take) I'll be back with some meaningful chitter chatter about all the Southern goodness of my Virginia Christmas, from Ralph's barbecue to fried green tomatoes to hot dogs at my favorite greasy spoon.
Yay--even a picture of Great-Grandmother Food Musings in the background! What a bird (& I don't necessarily mean the turkey)!
