I'm sorry! If you I were at your house for the first time and saw the kitchen, I would say "It's not that bad." I should have replied with that-sorry.
Can the cabinets and or linoleum (SP?) be primed and painted? New pulls on the doors and drawers? It's amazing what a can of paint can do. I like the yellow walls by the table.
Oh, I didn't mean you made me feel depressed. Just the same, I appreciate all the ideas! We've thought about painting the cabinets but a friend advised that there's a chance they could be made of some substance that's carcinogenic when sanded and inhaled, so we decided no painting. And it just feels like if we do the cabinets and not the floors, or vice versa, we'll still be in an ugly kitchen. (sigh) So we're going to move. We're just being picky about the right place...
Wow... words fail me.

I know. Mind-numbingly gross, eh?

I hate to say this, but it is far worse than I imagined. It's amazing that you cook!

Tracy -- you know how they say that speaking the truth can be cathartic? This time it was just depressing!!!

Oh my, I feel your pain! Just think HOW MUCH you're going to appreciate your next kitchen... ;)
p.s. love the 'danger men cooking' sign!

Melissa -- that little sign conveniently covers up a hole in the cabinet. I'm not revealing which one of us kicked it there either, nooo...
