Eleni's, in Chelsea Market in NYC, delivers a dozen cupcakes for a reasonable price. In New York, that is. You can find their website through the Chelsea Market site. The cupcakes are good but not stupendous, maybe a 7.5 out of 10.

Little Sister

My two favorite places for Cupcakes in New York are Billy's Bakery in Chelsea and Cupcake Cafe (you can google them both for their websites). Neither of them deliver, unfortunately, and I don't know if you want to go to this much trouble, but you could always have a courier service pick them up from the store and deliver them. Might be a little crazy, but then again, New Yorkers get everything delivered, so i'm sure it wouldn't be the first time.

Thank you both so much for your help! I truly appreciate it. (And thank you, Catherine, for putting out a call for assistance!)

My favorite cookies in the whole world are from Levain Bakery in NYC. I've walked miles in the rain (literally!) for these cookies and I've also had them delivered before and they are out of this world.

They're at the top of this list:

They're expensive but I swear each cookie could feed 4 people. Aw man, I want one now! Here's their web site:

The best cupcakes that I know of are from Two Little Red Hens. Locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Try the Brooklyn Blackout Cupcake. It's truly divine.

Ironically, another food blogger just wrote a whole ode to Levain Bakery this week. In case you're interested...

Thanks everybody! I wish we could find something in Seattle, too.

You guys are the best. I've got Seattle covered, with a gift card from Cupcake Royale (http://www.cupcakeroyale.com/). I'm still dithering around about the NY gift, but you all have given me some good choices. Now to narrow it down . . .
