So. First of all, welcome home to me! Mr. Food Musings and I got back laaate Monday night from New Yawk. We had a blast, with the hangovers and extra pounds to prove it, and I'll spend the rest of the week writing up our New York Chronicles for you. Think thick slabs of pastrami piled mile-high on rye bread at Katz's delicatessen, five kinds of ethereal, mind-blowing pasta at Babbo, and sourdough twists with rough chunks of bittersweet chocolate at Amy's Bread in Chelsea Market.
In a bittersweet twist that has nothing to do with Amy's treats, our digital camera fell in love with the bright lights, big city and decided to stay behind in New York. In the cab ride to Chelsea on Sunday night, it snuck down into the crevice of the backseat and stubbornly refused to remind us to fetch it when we got out. We wish our little camera lots of luck making it big but, in the meantime, I'm sorry to say that future posts will be photo-free. Donations are being accepted, cash preferred. Email me to send money.
On another note, my little piece on how to make paneer cheese got picked up by another food blog recently! Check out the little write up about me and Mr. Food Musings by Sam of Becks & Posh (which is Cockney for "nosh"). If you love Indian food like Sam and I do, check all of the postings this week -- it's India Curry and Spice Week and there's a lot to love.
Tune in to Food Musings tomorrow to read all about our carnivorous gluttony at Brasserie Les Halles.
